Halmstad's Vocal Ensemble is formed
Halmstad's Vocal Ensemble is formed in September. The first concerts is hold as early as November in Snöstorp's and Skrea churches with Lars-Erik Larsson's "Missa Brevis" on the agenda among others.

Concert with the spirit of Mozart and recording of CD
Mozart concerts in Snöstorp and Landskrona with "Vesperae solennes de confessore” with solo performances by members of the choir. Recording of "Sagrada Familia" for Isildurs Banes CD "The Voyage". Christmas concert with Johan Stengård.
"Tones of love" and tour to The Baltics
"Tones of love" with folksinger Jan-Olof Andersson in Immanuel's church. Musical tour to The Baltics with concerts in Tallinn, Rapla and Riga (Wagner Halle and the catherdral). Concert with Olle Adolphson at Halmstad's theatre. Concert with Eva Bartholdsson and Lars-Åke Svensson at Immanuel's church.
The Passion of John for the first time
The Passion of John in Snöstorp for the first time. Hasse & Tages "Spader, Madame" at Halmstad's theatre performed together with Stefan Ljungqvist and Music in Halland. Weekend tour to Skåne.
Tour to the Czech Republic
Tour to the Czech Republic. Duke Ellington-concert together with Halmstads Storband.
Recording of christmas album
Recorded "Julsång från Knäred" to the album "Jul i Halland". "A joyful evening in two acts", a successful concert in Immanuel's chruch. Haydns Skapelsen together with Snöstorp's church choir. Songs from "Spader Madame" at the castle courtyard in Halmstad to celebrate the 350th anniversary of Halland.
Cultural scholarship and summer tour
John Rutters Magnificat together with Snöstorp's church choir. Summer tour to Gotland filled with church concerts. Halmstads Vocal Ensemble receives Hallands culture scholarship. "World Wide" at Immanuel's Church, around an hour and a half of global music with choir and jazz group.
Choir contest
The Passion of John in Snöstorp's church. Summer tour in Småland with church concerts. Participation in Hallands division of the competition "Toner för miljoner". Göran wins first price with both Snöstorps's Youth Choir and its Girls Choir, but strikes out with the Vocal Ensemble due to a disappointing performance of "Wade in the Water". "Poulencs Gloria" on the other hand was a great success!
Tour to Great Britain and prices
The Passion of John at Snöstorp's church. Tour to England and Wales, with church concerts and participation in a competition in Llangollen. The choir is awarded second place in the chamber choir division. John Rutters Requiem together with Snöstorp's church choir.
Halmstad's Vocal Ensemble 10 years!
The year starts off with an anniversary concert in Martin Luther's church. The Passion of John in Snöstorp's church. Haydns Theresienmesse together with Snöstorp's church choir. A big anniversary concert in Immanuel's church with high lights from the choir's history, acompanied with local jazz musicians.
Sharing of culture
The Passion of John at Snöstorp's church. Sharing of Culture with Hallands friend region Warmia-Mazuria in Poland: tour with choir festival in Olsztyn and several concerts. Original performance of Hallands oratorio "Ängeln och trädet" by Stefan Petzén and Stefan Wikrén, accompanied by Ars Cantus from Falkenberg, orchestra and soloists.
Collaboration with the Polish choir Medici pro Musica
The Passion of John in Snöstorp's church. Vesperae solennes de confessore by Mozart together with Snöstorp's church choir. "Musikalisk happening" with soprano sax player Anders Paulsson during Halmstad's music weeks. "Polska om våren", a concert together with the Polish choir Medici pro Musica from Olsztyn, a part of the sharing of culture between the two friend regions, Halland and Warmia-Mazuria in Poland. Weekend tour to Skåne with church concerts. Missa Sancti Nicolai by J Haydn in S:t Nikolai church.
Host for the choir festivity Toner för miljoner
The Passion of John in Snöstorp's church. Rutters ”Magnificat" together with Snöstorp's church choir. Halmstad's Vocal Ensemble hosts Toner for Millions' choir festivity in Halmstad. Guest artist: Stefan Ljungqvist. "Körmystik" at the Culture Night in Halmstad with music by, among others, Mellnäs and Messiaen. "En svensk körkonsert" in Snöstorps church with music by Hans-Ola Ericsson, Bengt Hallberg, Nils Lindberg, among others.
Weekend tour to Denmark and summer tour
Pergolesis "Stabat Mater" (women's choir). "Waisenhausmesse" by Mozart together with Snöstorp's church choir. Weekend tour to Denmark with church concerts. Summer tour to Österlen with church concerts. Premiere of "Sjösång" by Lars Åke Snus Svensson and Peter Brem together with jazz group and Ginestrakvartetten. Premiere of "Nu lättar mitt gröna moln" by Håkan Brandqvist in collaboration with the Ginestrakvartettens anniversary concert. "Gladelig, sjunge vi" by Gunnar Hahn performed with Halmstad Chamber Orchestra.
Choir festival and Christmas concert
Parts of Händel's Messiah in Snöstorp's church on Good Friday and in October. Concert with soprano saxophonist Anders Paulsson in Snöstorp's church. Summer tour to Bohuslän, with concerts in Strömstad, Tossene, Lysekil and Stenkyrka. Halmstad's Vocal Ensemble begins Österlen's Choir Festival with a concert in Tommarp's church. Concert together with the Ginestrakvartetten in Harplinge church. Christmas concert in Martin Luther's church for the first time.
Helping the victims of the tsunami through music
"Källor av liv" by Margaret Rizza in St. Nikolai Church, concert to help the victims of the tsunami. "Duo & Choir" - jazz concert with Per Thornberg (ts) and Lars Åke Snus Svensson (pi) in Snöstorp's church. The creation of Joseph Haydn together with Snöstorp's church choir in Snöstorps church. Halmstad's Vocal Ensemble participates as one of twelve invited choirs from around the world in the Choir Festival in Rottenburg am Neckar. Recording and release of the Christmas album "A babe is born". Christmas concerts in Martin Luther's church and in Torup's church.

"Födelsedagskonsert för Wolfgang Amadeus" in Snöstorps church together with the soloists Ann Johansson - soprano and Christoph Liabäck - clarinet, and orchestra. "I den härliga vår", spring concert in the newly built City Library in Halmstad together with the Singing Ensemble Mumma and Läckerolerna. "Körmaraton" in Immanuel's church in collaboration with Halmstad's cultural festival. Mozart's Requeim in Snöstorp's church together with Cappella Snöstorp, in a new version by Robert D Levin. Christmas concert in Martin Luther's church. Otherwise, an intense concert year with seven church concerts along the west coast, from Gothenburg in the north to Helsingborg in the south.
Celebration Halmstad's 700th-anniversary
"Kom i min famn", spring concert in the City Library with guest conductor Prof. Gunnar Eriksson. Singing at Borggården to celebrate Halmstad's 700th anniversary. Weekend tour with concerts in Landskrona, Skummeslöv and Snöstorp. The oratorio "The Angel and the Tree" by Halmstad composers Stefan Wikrén and Stefan Petzén in St Nikolai church (First performance after our premiere in 2000). Christmas concert in Martin Luther's church for the fourth year. It really is a tradition now!
Choir competition in Austria
Spring concert in the City Library. Participation in the chroir competition in Spittal an der Drau in Austria. Very hard competition. The choir receives no award, but many nice reviews, not least for its magical interpretation of Whitacre's "Sleep". Concert in St Nikolai church on Kulturnatten. Concert due to the Music Festival in Martin Luther Church. Recordings of the CD "Poem". (Release autumn 2009). Christmas concert in Martin Luther's church for the fifth year.
Halmstad's Vocal Ensemble 20 years!
Part 2 from Händel's Messiah on Good Friday in Snöstorp's church. Spring concert in the City Library together with the pianist Hans Pålsson. Four wonderful summer concerts in Skåne/Halland. Anniversary concert to celebrate the choir's 20th birthday in Immanuel's Church. Release of the CD Poem. Christmas concert for the sixth year in Martin Luther church.

The Passion of St. Matthew in St. Nikolai Church. The concert is produced by Göran Persson, Ulric Andersson and Mats Reuter and was performed by the project's orchestra and choir, which included Halmstad's Vocal Ensemble, all under the direction of Göran. Summer tour with concerts in Västervik, Kalmar and Nybro. Concert in Harplinge church outside Halmstad with premiere of "Two songs for mixed choir" by Håkan Brandqvist. Christmas concert for the eighth year in Martin Luther's church.

Music with a distance
During this strange "corona year", we managed to perform two concerts before the restrictions prevented further performances. In St. Andreas, Malmö on 7/3 and in Snöstorp's church on 8/3 At the annual meeting on 16/3, the choir decided to cancel all coming scheduled events. Booked concerts in Björnekulla 5/3, Eslöv 26/4, Ängelholm 15/8 and Skummeslöv 16/8 were canceled and the planned spring concert was put on hold! During the autumn, we managed to start up again and in smaller scale. We practiced with a distance in Snöstorp's church with reduced number of participants and gave a "corona safe" concert in Björnekulla 13/9 and in Eslöv 18/10. The planned concerts "Hösttröst" in Snöstorp's church on 22/11 and the Christmas concert in Martin Luther's church were canceled when everything was closed again in early November.
Pandemic
Under våren och sommaren låg verksamheten helt nere på grund av pandemin. Vi kom igång så smått under hösten. Konsert i Ängelholms kyrka den 23/10, Monday Night Music i Snöstorps kyrka den 22/11 och Julkonsert i Martin Luthers kyrka den 18/12.

Vi gör dubbla föreställningar och intäkterna går oavkortat till Ukraina. Det är första gången verket framförs i sin helhet i Halmstad.
